I’ve been wanting to share with everyone news from the July 28th meeting affiliates had regarding the New York Amazon Tax problem. If you are an affiliate or merchant affected by the New York Amazon Tax Law you’ll want to be sure to read this. They had an attorney at the meeting who gave some good advice.

I think affiliates are going to be livid at this decision to preinstall MS’s toolbar as it will potentially interfere with their income. The PC maker will install Web browser toolbar that can tell when Web shoppers are searching on Google for certain products, then lure them to Live Search for a rebate.

I’m pretty sure all the top 10 have affiliate programs but I never hear affiliates talking about any of them. Except eBay which came in at 10. Also other stats affiliates and merchants should find interesting. It shows average conversion rate by traffic source including from referrals.

Jeff Molander did a survey of affiliate managers and what they want and need. The questions are loaded and seem like market research for some new idea, but I’m not sure that’s the case. That’s just how it sounds to me.
